Sitnews Announces 2002 'Pets Are Wonderful' Contest

Ben FurSitnews is pleased to announce the 2002 'Pets Are Wonderful' Photo & Essay Contest!

To Enter The 2002 PAW Contest:

Send a photo of your pet and in 50-100 words tell us why your pet is wonderful.

  • Hard copy photos & essay text can be mailed to:

  • Digital photos & essay text can be e-mailed to:

    • editor@sitnews.org

    Basic Information:

  • All photos with 50-100 word essay submissions e-mailed or postmarked by January 31, 2002 will be accepted for consideration.
  • Entries must include your full name, mailing address and phone number and the name of your pet.
  • Categories - You must provide your category or age if under 18 with your photo-essay submission:

    • Adult (18 - 100+) - Winner will receive $50.00

    Young Adult (13-17) - Winner will receive $25.00

    Youth (12 or under)- Winner will receive $25.00

  • Individuals under 18 years of age must provide parent's written permission along with their pet's photo & short essay in order to be entered in the PAW contest and for publication online.
  • All photos and essays will be published online on Sitnews. Sitnews reserves the right to correct any errors (such as spelling, grammar) prior to publication.
  • Photos and essays will be published online as they are received.
  • To enter more than one family pet, send a photo and a 50-100 word essay for each family pet entered.
  • Photos and essays will become the property of Sitnews. Hard copy photos will be returned after Sitnews converts the hard copy photo to a digital photo for online publication
  • Individuals who contribute to Sitnews as volunteers are not excluded from entering the PAW contest.
  • Entries are not restricted to Ketchikan residents only.
  • Winners will be determined by a group of judges composed of community members.
  • Winners will be announced on the Sitnews web site the evening of Monday, February 11, 2002, and awards will be mailed to the PAW winners, postmarked on or by February 12, 2002.
