ADF&G Soliciting Bids To Charter A Vessel For Stream Survey March 28, 2002
The charter vessel must be equipped with radar and able to operate in weather conditions common to the Petersburg-Wrangell Area. It must provide transport for a crew of two (2) to three (3) Fish and Game personnel and provide living space; i.e. individual sleeping space for the two to three ADF&G personnel, galley space for and provision for 3 meals per day for all personnel; be able to transport one 19' aluminum skiff and one 15'-17' aluminum jet skiff, provide sufficient space for gasoline storage (two 55 gallon drums) and dry storage space for all project gear such as boots, chest waders, firearms/ammunition, first aid/survival gear, backpacks, maps/charts, handheld radios and personal gear. Space must available for the drying of wet gear. The vessel crew must also be available/capable to drop and pick up survey crews on the beach with skiffs at individual streams as necessary. The State requires that vessels have adequate survival and fire-fighting equipment aboard at all times while under contract and must meet all U.S. Coast Guard safety regulations. A U.S. Coast Guard safety inspection will be required if the vessel does not display a current valid U.S. Coast Guard vessel safety inspection decal. Bid for vessel charter forms
may be obtained at either the Petersburg or Wrangell offices.
