Rollover Accident at Mud Bight

Ketchikan - On Friday morning, May 3rd at 12:36 a.m., the Alaska State Troopers and the Ketchikan Police Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover at Mud Bight.

According to an Alaska State Troopers' news release, investigation revealed that a 1984 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Nicholas Tucker, age 20 of Ketchikan, was northbound on North Tongass Highway at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate the turn at Mud Bight. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled over several times. Tucker and a passenger, Natalie Nay, age 18 of Ketchikan, were thrown from the vehicle. Another passenger, Jeremy Lassiter, age 21 of Ketchikan, remained in the vehicle.

Pond Reef Volunteer Fire Department responded and transported the victims to Ketchikan General Hospital.

According to the news release, alcohol was involved and the accident is under investigation by the Alaska State Troopers.
