According to a news release provided by Representative Ethan Berkowitz (D), the latest plan for redistricting cleared a legal hurdle, being upheld by Superior Court Judge Rindner as complying with the Supreme Court's prior ruling to re-draw district lines. After the Supreme Court's ruling, the Redistricting Board went back to the drawing board and re-worked the district lines in an attempt to comply with the decision. The plan that emerged was signed off on by all but two of nine of the groups who challenged the first redistricting plan. Berkowitz stated in his news release that this new plan may still be appealed to the Supreme Court, and so is not yet considered the final plan.
