Registration is going on now for ARTSCool Arts Camp: 4 weeks of visual and performing arts for kids ages 8-16. There's something for everyone this summer: Intensive Animation Workshops for older and returning students, theatre on stage and behind the scenes with Annie Jr, Wearable Art, and more. Join an outstanding group of instructors and talented, fun-loving students at the 27th annual Sitka Fine Arts Camp June 2002. The Fine Arts Camp offers exciting, high quality, professional instruction in visual arts, music, dance, theater, creative writing and Alaskan Native Arts to students from all over Alaska. Last year 120 students from 23 different communities attended the camp. Camp offers students a variety of arts opportunities not usually available in their own communities. Creating a Geography of Hope: the 19th Annual Sitka Symposium. June 16th-23rd. The Sitka Symposium is a gathering that aims to put written and oral traditions to the service of ideas. It caters to a broad audience of writers, readers, and anyone interested in the theme. Activities include talks by leaders, panel and group discussions, and readings.
