Celebration of Diversity

Ketchikan, Alaska - Saturday, June 1st, beginning at 6 pm the cultural richness of the community of Ketchikan will be celebrated at the Saxman Tribal House.

The Revilla Island Prevention Coalition in partnership with 'Honoring All' is sponsoring a special event to highlight the many diverse groups living in Ketchikan. "A Celebration of Diversity" will begin with a sampling of different dishes such as Portuguese bread, fried catfish. black eye peas or fried rice.

Stories, song and dance from their native countries will be shared by a variety of people from Ketchikan. Some of the features will include Australian folk songs from Greg Thomas, Tsimshian stories from talented Terri Burr, and an opportunity to learn the Filipino dance known as the Ting-a-kling. The Voices of Experience will also share some of their favorite renditions. There is no admission charge. Come, participate, celebrate.
