Ketchikan - The Children's Southeast
Alaska Native Culture Week was held June 17 - 21, 2002, and was
open to children ages 7 - 14. The Culture Week Camp was offered
by the City of Ketchikan's Totem Heritage Center.

"Fishing out creatures
at the beach" : Nick Bradley, 7, and 8-year-old
Ellis Miller fish out sea creatures at Rotary Beach June 19 as
part of Children's Southeast Alaska Native Culture Week. The
boys were part of 17 kids who participated in the week's worth
of activities, which included traditional Native games, bead
work, and observing a Tlingit carver at work.

kids listening" : Alaska Fish and Wildlife Biologist Boyd
Porter explains to children the sea creatures and various foods
traditionally found at the beach by subsistence gatherers. Mr.
Porter and these children were at Rotary Beach on June 19th as
part of Children's Southeast Alaska Native Culture Week, run
by the City of Ketchikan's Totem Heritage Center.
