Coast Guard Holds Change of Command

The Coast Guard Integrated Support Command in Ketchikan held a change of command ceremony Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Ketchikan. Capt. Catherine M. McNally relieved Capt. Gary S. Steinfort as Commanding Officer of the unit during the ceremony.

McNally most recently served as the Legal Officer for the Eighth Coast Guard District in New Orleans. Her previous duty assignments include Executive Officer of the Coast Guard Integrated Support Command in Seattle, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Group Ketchikan and Legal Counselor at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. McNally is a honors graduate of Michigan State University and received her law degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. McNally is a member of the State Bar in Michigan.

Steinfort retired from the Coast Guard after the change of command and will relocate to Eagle River, Alaska. Steinfort's previous duty assignments include Chief of the 17th Coast Guard District Command Control and Communications Divisions here, Chief of the computer systems branch at the Coast Guard Electronics Engineering Laboratory in Alexandria, Va., and Chief of the Command and Display Control at Coast Guard Headquarters. Steinfort is a Coast Guard Academy Graduate and received a Master's Degree in Electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Coast Guard base Ketchikan served as a transit and staging area for servicemen and woman during World War II. Base Ketchikan became Integrated Support Command (ISC) Ketchikan on May 22, 1996. ISC Ketchikan has staff located in Ketchikan and Juneau and serves all Coast Guard units between Ketchikan and Anchorage.
