Ketchikan General Hospital Welcomes New Physician

Ketchikan General Hospital announced the arrival of a new physician to PeaceHealth and to the community.

Eric Youngstrom, M.D., is an anesthesiologist who recently joined the KGH Anesthesiology Department on an every-other month basis, alternating with Robert Ford, MD.

According to the news release, Dr. Youngstrom studied medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, completed a family practice internship and residency in Ventura California, as well as residencies in anesthesiology at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire. He arrives in Ketchikan following 24 years of service as staff anesthesiologist at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Youngstrom is originally from Everett, Washington. He enjoys boating and skiing, and comes to Ketchikan with his wife Paula. Youngstrom chose Ketchikan for its beauty, boating and friendly people and looks forward to a slightly less frenetic lifestyle.

Dr. Youngstrom will be at KGH every other month. He began in June, and is in Ketchikan throughout this month, August.
