Chad Medel had the pleasure of presenting a 2001 Community Assets Builder Award to Greg Thomas.

Medel remarked that Thomas donates kayak trips for a new recreation program for people with disabilities in Ketchikan. C.A.R.E. (Community Access and Recreation for Everyone) is treated to a free kayak trip and great kayaking stories every Tuesday evening courtesy of Greg.

Greg is recognized for building the assets of other caring adults, community values, youth, positive adult role models, creative activities, youth programs, caring, equality and social justice, interpersonal competence, and sense of purpose.

In accepting the award, Thomas said, "This is really an incredible honor."
