Monday - 10:20 pm

Ketchikan: The Rainy Day Quilters Guild is, again, offering Ketchikan residents the opportunity to win a heirloom quality quilt. According to a news release, this year's Rainy Day Quilters' Quilt Show Raffle Quilt is a study in exquisite tones of blue, and each of the 99 block designs are unique and intriguing. The quilt is sized to fit either a queen or king-size bed

The Raffle Quilt is locally sewn and quilted by many of the skilled artisans of the Ketchikan Rainy Day Quilters Guild. Many of the quilters who worked on this quilt have won prizes for their own quilts, which have been entered in State and National quilt shows.

The price of a single raffle ticket is $5.00 and a book of 5 tickets is $20.00. The Raffle Quilt will be on display at the Plaza on Tuesday, November 5th, and later at the Silver Thimble. Members selling raffle tickets will also have pictures of the quilt for viewing.

Tickets for the annual Quilt Show Raffle Quilt will go on sale at a booth at the Plaza on November 5th, Election Day. Another booth sale will occur at the Silver Thimble during their annual Quilt Show on November 9 and 10. Additionally, Quilt Raffle Tickets may be purchased from any Rainy Day Quilters Guild member until the actual Quilt Show on February 15 and 16, during Festival of the North month.

Raffle Quilt Committee Chairperson, Roxann Byron at 225-6335, may be contacted for further information and individual or group ticket sales. The Rainy Day Quilters Guild, a non-profit organization, will use proceeds of the Quilt Raffle Sales to further the learning of new quilting skills by its members, as well as to support the Guild's numerous Community Service projects, such as the monthly program of donations to Women In Safe Homes (WISH), The First City Cancer Auction Quilt, baby quilt donations to Ketchikan General Hospital, bib donations to The Pioneer Home, and the Salvation Army Food Basket donation for Thanksgiving.
