Mary Kauffman devoted years of service as a teacher to children with special education needs. She often spent many hours outside of the classroom doing special things for her students.

Now retired, Mary continues to devote time to advocating for families with children who have special education needs.

Mary is also a protector of animals and cares for many abandoned creatures.

Mary was unable to attend the event and her husband, Dick Kauffman, accepted the award on her behalf.
