Scientists struggle to understand the changes. A great challenge to mankind has arrived: this is the story of the first people attempting to meet it. Renowned Alaskan author and photographer, Charles Wolhforth, will be giving a presentation on his new book.

12:30 to 5 p.m. -The Southeast Regional Advisory Council, Unit 2 Deer Planning Subcommittee, will meet about Prince of Wales Island (Unit 2) deer subsistence issues at the Ted Ferry Civic Center in Ketchikan. Although these are working sessions, rather than public interaction meetings, members of the public are welcome to come and observe the proceedings. During the meeting, the newly-formed committee will develop goals, generate a detailed plan of work to take place in the coming year, and establish associated timelines. For more information, call Thorne Bay Acting District Ranger Larry Dunham at (907) 828-3210.
